Be Happy. Be Bright. Be You.

Why I Started My Blog

I've been so busy lately and feel like I haven't had time to write a blog post. But today being my day off gives me every reason to sit down and write. I have been so productive today and I'm quite thrilled about it. My day has gone a little like this: woke up and went to the gym with my husband (we did Kayla and I literally don't think I'll be able to move my arms today..or at all), came home and made us breakfast sandwiches, cleaned up the house, figured out invitations for a bridal shower, called about financing for my wisdom teeth, (getting them out on Friday... wish me luck, I'm literally so scared) put in my Doterra order online, annnd now I'm sitting here writing this blog post with Nora Jones on repeat. I'm obsessed with her.

On my Instagram I had asked if anyone had any questions for me and one of them was, "What inspired you to start blogging and who are some of your favorite bloggers?" As I sat there and read that comment I went back to when I very first started my blog. My husband and I were just about to move to Texas for the summer of 2016 and I wanted something that I could look back on and remember all of the fun things we did throughout the summer. I've always loved to write... but not in a journal. Although I have always wished I kept a personal journal. That was when I decided to start a 'journal' blog. I posted on it throughout the whole summer and even after we got home. I posted all of our adventures, birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, etc. And I LOVED it. It was so much fun for me & such a good way for family/friends to see what was going on in our lives. I kept doing this into this year but then decided I wanted to do more with it. I wanted to post outfits, beauty tips, tutorials, advice, etc. I felt like I had so much that I could share with the small world out there. I've always loved following bloggers and look up to so many of them. My sister is a blogger and observing her over the past couple years has been one of the reasons I wanted to move forward with my blog. She has had so much success with her blog and seemed so happy with what she was doing. I finally decided to take a leap of faith and haven't turned back since! It has been a crazy adventure that I will forever be grateful for. Blogging has opened my eyes and has made me realize who I am and what I want to become. Hope you all have an amazing week. Thanks for following along & reading! I will link some of my favorite bloggers below!

Advice: If you are wanting to start a blog 1) DO IT and don't look back and 2) STOP caring what other people might think. Blogging is about YOU.

P.S. this sweater is literally the comfiest thing I've ever worn... and it's only $15 :)
